I ordinarily do not contribute my political views on this website, I reserve that for my blog; but..... Today I was visiting a website called Campaign for Liberty, a Ron Paul supporter site. They had a link to the US Constitution (Can be found under the resources tab on the left, which takes you to the file) that I wanted to post up here, as my blog topic this time was regarding the 16th and 17th Amendments. The Constitution is under attack; I'm not talking about Democrat this, and Republican that, I think both parties only have done their share to erode the restraints on government imposed by the Constitution. My goal here today was simply to post a copy of the Constitution for all to read, it is THE founding document for our country, and it is up to each one us; those born here, those naturalized, and those in the process of becoming naturalized citizens to uphold and defend our Constitution, for as Tony Blair said while addressing British Ambassadors in London: "I sometimes think it is a good rule of thumb to ask of a country: are people trying to get into it or out of it? It's not a bad guide to what sort of country it is." So the question becomes; do we have a problem with immigration or emigration? Now that I think about it, I'll expand upon this in my blog, check it out and let me know your opinion. |

As you may have noticed, the url of this site is "www.vagreen.net", but the title is "Dan's Digital Dive". Why is that? 3/15/2010 update: I've given up! I have had more than a few hurdles trying to move my sites to SiteGround. Hence this update, if anyone is attempting to utilize their services, I highly recommend you look elsewhere, I have decided to stay with BlueHost, while more expensive than a discount provider, they are really top notch.
1/7/2010 update: I just reclaimed "dansdigitaldive.com" domain name, and the site will be renamed and redirected within the week. The answer, quite simply is a business idea gone amuck. A gentleman approached me to design him a website and after I produced it in accordance with his guidelines, he disappeared. I promplty removed his domain. All in all, while I lost a few hundred dollars (business license, software & webspace) it was a good learning experience. The website is a useful end to a project gone astray. I renamed the domain to VaGreen.net and I was going to document my attempt at becoming more energy efficient. The web page didn't quite turn out the way I wanted, so I decided on the blog look; and that has worked out well. I still had this URL, so I decided to create a "playground" if you will to test my theories and projects. This site is simply as it sounds; a place for me to play and pass information along that I (not neccessarily you) find useful and informative for my family and friends. I hope you enjoy it as I screw around. From time to time I'll place what I think are some pretty cool links in the "COOL STUFF" menu for everyone to enjoy. The Cool Stuff menu is a menu of current links that I am finding useful/curious about. There will also be a link to a project or two that I am working on. |

Yesterday I signed with a new Server Host company; SiteGround. They had a great introductory offer that just couldn't be beat. They are offering one year of hosting for $20.10. The only downside is their URL costs are 50% higher than Bluehost, my previous host. I have no complaints about Bluehost, it was a simple matter of economics; and in this time of frugleness, I believe it was a wise decision. I'll keep it posted as to how the hosting goes. |

Happy Thursday!! Today I was listening to my financial hero, Howard Clark and a caller called in with a tip to avoid "keyloggers". What is a keylogger you ask, a key logger is a piece of spyware/malware that records your keystrokes in an attempt to gain usernames and passwords. So, what can you and I do to prevent these hackers? Probably nothing, but we can slow them down and make our accounts harder to get into by using the virtual keyboards built into windows. I hear you now asking, "How DigiDan do we do this?" Well my binary friends; just follow these simple instructions after reaching the promp for your username/password: WIN XP: START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > ACCESSIBILITY > On Screen Keyboard. WIN VISTA/7: I'll have to update this later with that little tidbit, but should be about the same. Let's be safe out there..... til nextime. |

It is that time of year! It is a time to remember why we celebrate Christmas, a time to cherish our family and friends. There is something about Christmas that just brings out the best in people, I don't care if a person is "religious" or not, almost everyone is a pleasure to be around this time of year. I found Facebook, and that is one thing I am thankful for this year. I finally heeded my brother (from another mother) advice and joined up. I'm really glad I did, it allowed me to connect with some of my friends that I have lost contact with over the years and "see" them again. To all my friends, old and new, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful, blessed New Year. |
